Gandhi Walkers 2015
I'm very excited to be a part of this years Gandhi Walk 2015 in Lenasia and who would of thought my favourite paint suppliers and manufacturers would be the main sponsor this year. None other than Medal Paints.
Last year was a bit of a tough year for me and I had all sorts of issues arise closer to the walk date, which left me without a walk and I decided to postpone the inevitable.
This year, everything has guided me towards Gandhi and the Gandhi Walk, with no issues or unforeseen circumstances so far. There also seems to be an abundance of positive attitude, clean and fresh thinkers, with loads of smiles and happiness all around. The rewards to all who participate and to all who spectate can only be described as awesome!
Here is some general info about 'The Gandhi Walk'.
The date selected for the Gandhi Walk is Sunday 19 April 2015 and the starting times for each walk are 9:00am for the 12km and the 6km at 9:15am.
The 6km and 12km start and finish at the Gandhi Hall, Impala Crescent, Extension 5, Lenasia and costs a mere two green backs aka two rhinos (R20) to get you walking.
That's a price everyone can afford, so there's no excuses this year people and you can enter today or on the day.

The age groups and their respective categories apply both to the 6km and 12km walks, which are as follows -

A Commemorative Medal will be given to the first 3000 walker in.
A commemorative t-shirt will be given to the first 3000 walkers in.
There are loads of spot-prizes given to walkers on the day, so bring your "Gold Medal" game, a positive attitude and fresh tekkies.

Parking, something we all rage about when going through to various events.
Luckily enough there will be plenty of parking available around the Gandhi Hall and all the parking is FREE.
If you are going to be walking the awesome walk, then it is recommended you arrive at least one hour before the start or slightly earlier if possible (the early bird catches the worm).
95% of "The Walkers" arrive between 7.30 - 8:15am which results in traffic congestion and a little less smiles. I think if you can arrive before 8am you will "turn your frown upside down" and experience happiness like no other. There will be awesome parking spaces available, here, there and everywhere. There will be next to no queue's to use the toilets and that alone is really awesome for an early morning happy bagel. The end result of arriving early will be, a relaxed state of mind, awesome energy and a better chance of a good walk.
